List of Regulated Machinery registered with the Energy Efficiency Management Office under the Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Regulated Machinery) Regulations 2017 as at October 2025. Explanatory note: The dataset provides information on household electrical appliance models (Regulated Machinery) which have been registered with the EEMO for sale in Mauritius. These should bear an Energy Label as defined Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Regulated Machinery) (Amendment) Regulations 2017. Six types of Regulated Machinery are covered by the regulation and their energy performance is assessed against Mauritian Standards, as listed below: - Type of Appliance - | - Mauritian Standard - | - EU Commission Delegated Regulation - Household Refrigerating Appliances | MS 201 | (EU) 2019/2016 Household Electric Ovens | MS 204 | (EU) 65/2014 Household Dishwashers | MS 205 | (EU) 2019/2017 Electronic Displays (television, monitor) | - | (EU) 2019/2013 Household Tumble Dryers | - | (EU) 392/2012 Household Washer Dryers | - | (EU) 2019/2014 The information provided in the dataset include: - Type of Appliance: Refrigerating Appliance, Electric Oven or Dishwasher - Brand: the trademark of the manufacturer/supplier - Model: The model identifier - Dealer: The importer, distributor or reseller that has registered the Regulated Machinery - Class: This refers to the Energy Efficiency Class for each type of appliance. It is a classification rating that takes into account the energy use of an equipment as certified by laboratory tests and calculations carried out as recommended by in the abovementioned standard for each appliance type. The Energy Efficiency Class provides for classification of appliances with respect to their energy performance as follows: A+++ <-- Most Energy Efficient A++ A+ A B C D <-- Least Energy Efficient The intent is to provided potential consumers simplified information on the energy performance of an appliance based on which the latter may make an informed decision when purchasing a new appliance. Under the regulations it is compulsory for a dealer to ensure that any of the above Regulated Machinery put on display for sale in Mauritius to bear an Energy Label, as defined in the corresponding Mauritian standard or EU Commission Delegated Regulation. The information to be present on the label shall include: the brand name of the supplier, the model number of the appliance, its Energy Efficiency class, its annual or cyclic energy use as well as other physical characteristics. In this respect, the label aims at helping consumers to make an informed decision when purchasing a new household appliance.
