Rates of allowances paid under social aid, 2003 - 2014

As from 2010, rates are fixed on 1stJanuary of each year instead of 1stJuly for the previous years
Gift to a centenarian (one off payment) = Rs15,000: As from 1st Sept 2004 
CEB & NP Beneficiaries: As from 1st July 2006
Allowance in a case where the spouse gives  birth to more than 2 children during one confinement: As from 1st March 1995, allowance is paid to each child over and above 2 live births for a maximum of 12 months. As from 1st July 1998, allowance is payable to each child over and above 1 live birth for a maximum of 12 months. As from 1st July 2006, allowance is payable for a maximum of 24 months
Carer's Allowance (for children at least  60% permanently disabled and need constant care): As from 1st July 2005, applies to 6 months-15 years and 1 July 2006, to 6 months -18 years.
Allowance for children who are: As from 1st July 2007   
Allowance for school related expenses to children attending school (per annum): As from 1st July 2005, applies to 6 months-15 years and 1 July 2006, to 6 months -18 years.
Grant for every inmate (capitation grant) (i)   (Under 69) years = Rs 154: As from 1st July 2008, applicable to those aged less than 60 years    
Grant for every inmate (capitation grant) (ii)  (70-89) years = Rs 169: As from 1st July 2008, applicable to those aged (60-89) years  
Allowance for school related expenses to children attending school (per annum): As from 1st July 2007 
Allowance for children who are: As from 1st July 2007
Child's Allowance    (a) under 10 years = Rs447: Or Rs 750 for those opting for Social Register of Mauritius - Child's Allowance scheme as announced in Budget Speech 2013
Child's Allowance    (b) (10-14) years = Rs546: Or Rs 750 for those opting for Social Register of Mauritius - Child's Allowance scheme as announced in Budget Speech 2013
Child's Allowance    (c) (15-20) years:	(i) full time education = Rs 681: Or Rs 750 for those opting for Social Register of Mauritius - Child's Allowance scheme as announced in Budget Speech 2013
